So many of you have either messaged me, tweeted me, or commented and ask if Huskies shed. YES THEY DO!! They shed ALOT!! They need to be brushed daily if you don't want to deal with all the hair floating around everywhere! And even if you do brush them daily, you will still have hair everywhere!

One tool I have found that helps me combat the shedding is the Furminator. It's a deshedding tool. Basically what it does is helps brush out the undercoat of the dog. That white fluffy down like fur. If you have a husky, or any dog that sheds alot, I would deffinately advise getting a Furminator!

Thanks for watching!!

  1. I recognize those furry puffs! At our FiveSibes Husky Haven, they not started that semi-annual ritual yet! We are ready! I have a groomer come to the house to groom and bathe them...and I, too, in between use the Furminator. Great tool, my Mom bought it for me back on Husky #2! Ahhh, with the arrival of spring, I know the shedding season is just around the corner! By the way, your Sibes look beautiful!

  5. We haven't started to blow our coats yet, but once Thunder does, watch out, it is like a blizzard. We aren't sure when Ciara will have her first blowing, maybe not until the fall. We have the furminator too but Mom doesn't like to use it, she thinks it breaks our fur.

You should never shave a Siberian Husky. . .

  8. hee hee, there are really people who don't think they shed?

  9. Oh, my. We hope that person sees your comment about never shaving a Siberian!
We used to have a Furminator, but a very knowledgeable friend warned us that it breaks the guard hairs - especially on the reds. She was right - so Mom sent our Furminator to her sister to use on our non-Sibe fur-cousins. Whew!
Ha roo roo roo. Too bad she has other brushes......

  11. I have had a greyhound and a whippet and a Ibenzan hound and Bambi is part whippet. Those breeds and Bambi shed very little.
Have you had any experience with coons??
Do you feed them?? I am so glad that you love them and are not afraid of them!!! They get a bad rap!!

  14. What a lot of fur balls flying around! I have not started to shed yet, and good thing because I got lots of snow yesterday and I have been sleeping in it a lot to day! I certainly don't look forward to being brushed when my fur decides to blow.

  15. We used to get Furminated, but then Mom got a Master Blaster and then she blows the fur out of us. She doesn't tie us to a fence though, she ties us to her! It's so much torture.

  16. What is it with you humans and needing to steal our fluff? Seriously, we like it where it is. My humans are always "plucking" chunks off me, which I don't like. Then, when they get the furminator out and try to use it I run away. Of the 6 of us, mom says I am the worst to brush because I hate it. I just like to keep all my fluff to myself, thank you very much!!

  18. M & D remember those days when they had Sibes. LOTS of puffies and brushing. The birds used to like it and used it to build their nests. It would disappear out of our back yard. Kinda cool! She didn't have a Furminator then. Now M uses the Furminator on Sasha & sometimes on me.Works good on us. Chica has hardly any hair.Mom enjoyed the video brought back memories.
